Who it is for

The classic invoice is laid out like a business letter, because for most of the history of invoicing that is what it was. Clients still read it that way: who it is from at the top left, who it is to beneath, then what it is for, what it costs and how to pay.

This template sets your name and logo in Garamond as a letterhead, places the invoice number in a quiet serif on the right, and gathers billed-to, issue date, due date and amount due on one line. Totals sit in a narrow column; payment details and notes at the foot.

It suits almost anyone: consultants, studios, shops, sole traders and professional practices. If your brand uses a sans-serif, the Modern template keeps the same arrangement in Grotesk.

Questions

What is a classic invoice layout?

One arranged like a business letter: sender at the top left, recipient beneath, the invoice number and dates near the top, items in a table, totals on the right and payment details at the bottom. Most accounting software uses a version of it, which is why clients find it easy to read.

Can I switch to another template later?

Yes. Change template from the generator at any time; your details, items and totals stay exactly as they are.

Which typeface does it use?

EB Garamond for names and figures, with small sans-serif labels. The PDF embeds the fonts, so it looks the same on your client’s computer.

Is it free to use?

Yes: no account, no watermark and no limit on how many invoices you make.
